The ICC Cricket World Cup 2015 to be played in Australia and New Zealand in 2015 has a total of 14 teams, divided into two pools, with both the already listed teams in the ICC as well as the qualified teams. The teams which qualified in the end, were the ones who fared well in the World Cricket League Championship played in Sharjah.
The Pool A consists of the teams such as Australia and Sri Lanka which have won World Cups in the past, while the Pool B is a tougher one with India, Pakistan and West Indies alongside South Africa together along with three underdogs. Earlier, the decision was to play only a total of 10 teams, but now it would be a total of 14 teams, of which, four teams would advance to play the Quarter finals and then Semi finals would be held between the winners.
